Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Kiss Channeled Princess Diana and Prince Charles

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are constantly compared to the late Princess Diana, from their fashion choices to the events they attend. Now, people have noticed another sweet connection to the Princess of Wales, and this time it involves some royal affection.

Yesterday, Meghan went to the Sentebale polo match in Windsor to support Prince Harry. The Duchess of Sussex was on hand—wearing a denim Carolina Herrera dress—to award the winning team, which included her husband, Prince Harry. After giving the team their trophy, Meghan gave Harry a smooch on the lips.

Fans loved seeing the newlyweds show some PDA, and some royal watchers also made the connection to Harry's parents. As People reports, Princess Diana used to also appear at polo matches to award her then-husband, Prince Charles, with a trophy when his team won. The couple would often celebrate with a kiss.

While these competitions are often not official royal events—hence why the PDA is allowed, unlike the formal Queen's Young Leaders Awards—the polo matches still serve an important purpose. Sentebale was set up by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho to help children affected by HIV in Lesotho and Botswana.

The charity was inspired by the royals' mothers, as both Princess Diana and Seeiso’s mother, Queen ‘Mamohato, worked closely with HIV and AIDS charities. Prince Seeiso also attended Harry and Meghan's wedding in May.
